How's it going, guys? Yeah, I know, it's been a while since I posted a blog. But I have noticed that these types of blogs have been quite popular recently. I know, you may be thinking, "I've seen too many of these recently," but please don't click away. This blog is basically what I would enjoy in future updates, and what you guys, Spartans and strangers, want as well. If you agree, or have any ideas of your own you would like to share, let me know in the comments and you may be featured in the blog itself! Now, let's get started!

More Pets!

Turtle: Personally, I really like turtles, so I think they would be an awesome tameable pet. They could be found in swamps and jungles, and could be tamed with melon slices or apples. They wouldn't really do much except be awesomer and follow you around, though.

Golem Baby: A little golem protector, made with one block of a specified type and a wither skeleton skull on top of it. It will follow you around and fight for you by running at enemies and ramming into them. It will automatically attack hostile mobs, excluding the Wither and creepers, and will attack any nuetral or passive mob you aggrivate. They will be programmed to not walk of ledges, can jump one block, and will not go through portals without being pushed by an entity. It has a 20% chance of dropping the wither skull upon death, and a 60% chance of dropping the body block. Each block type used has a special ability, so here I shall provide a chart showing the available block typs and the abilities provided:

Dirt: Basic, normal charge attack, damage of a fist, slowness 1, doesn't regen without being manually healed.
Cobble or Smooth Stone: Basic charge attack, damage of a stone sword
Coal Block: Takes extra fire damage, but slightly higher strength
Iron Block: Higher knockback
Gold Block:Faster speed
Redstone Block: Has a 30% chance of striking enemy with lighting, 8 minute recharge
Lapis Lazuli Block: Can swim extremely fast
Quartz Block: The damage of an iron sword
Emerald Block: Increases amount of experience dropped by enemies it kills
Diamond Block: Damage of diamond sword with sharpness 1, the ability to jump 2 blocks high, and faster regen (one and a half health a second)
Netherack: Fire resistance
Nether Brick: Fire resistance and fire aspect 1
Melon: Faster regen (one health a second)
TNT: Blast resistance
Dispenser: Shoots arrows, approximately one a second
Snow: Fires snowballs, approximately two a second
Furnace: A moving, functioning furnace that follows you around
Crafting Table: A moving, functioning crafting table that follows you around

Weather!

High Winds: Winds that appear when a storm's a brewin'! They are in fact so strong, they can push you, other mobs, and entities as well, including fired snowballs, eggs, arrows, fishing rod hooks, primed TNT, etc. It can also put out fire. The wind speed has high force, but slow speed, so it would only push you or other mobs about a sixteenth of a block a second, while projectiles can be affected severely, and can be quite bad for your archery.

Saturation: I know how much you probably hate rain in Minecraft, so I apologize for wanting to make it even worse, but I think this is a pretty good idea. If blocks of certain types are exposed to rain for too long, they get affected. For example, when melons are exposed, they become rotten and unedible. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Other Stuff!

Iron Rod: These items are just sticks made with iron ingots instead of wood. They can be used to craft the weather vane, or replace sticks in several recipes such as the fishing rod, the bow, or any tool, to add durability.

Weather Vane: A helpful object that goes along with high winds, to help keep you notified. It will show you which way the wind is blowing, so you can better aim your arrows! For example, say the wind is blowing to the East, so you aim your arrow to the West of where you normally would. The weather vane is crafted with three iron ingots and an iron rod. Here is the crafting recipe:

Update 1.1 : by Jacksus 03/18/2014 10:03:26 amMarch 18, 2014 @ 2:03 pm UTC

The first update consists of the addition of the Weather vane, suggested by Totally_Not_Carsen, and the iron rod, along with a small update to the weather section.

I think the pet ideas would be cool, I think having a Turtle as a pet would be the best *highfives*. Although the weather dosent seem like a very good idea, high winds being able to blow you around would be a bit, overkill i think, but having wind affect projectiles would be cool. We could even have wind vanes that we could put a top our houses to tell direction of wind, the clouds or possibly in the future; birds, could also blow with the wind. that sounds pretty cool too me :P .

Good idea! I agree with the weather vane and such, but with the winds that push you, I only meant like, if you stand still it will very slowly start pushing you, at a speed perhaps a sixteenth of a block a second? So yea it would be quite slow. But yea, I really like the idea of weather vanes and I am going to add them. :)

Well, if they are going to add wind to the game it probably needs to be more influential then just having it push you around. Like if it could be tied to clouds, birds, and or the weather vanes we talked about, then it might be resonable. But from just this it's just too arbitrary and amlost pointless. If you could find other uses for implementing wind into the game ( assuming they are good uses ) it might be a possibility but yeah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i dunno lol

Yes, I agree, that is why I added the weather vane and pointed out it is quite afflicting towards archery, because it pushes the arrow.
