Long ago, before the first seed was generated, there were only two entities. Their births are not recorded, not even in the libraries of strongholds. We know only their names, Notch the Creator, and Herobrine the Keeper. They found themselves in an empty void.
Notch looked over to his companion and said, "Herobrine, we posses great power. We can make for ourselves a paradise or netherworld. We can control all but each other. What shall we do?"
Herobrine found himself by nature to be kindhearted, "Notch, if we do posses such powers, why not make the best of them. If the canvas is blank, there is no need to destroy it."
"Paradise it is," Notch declared.
Notch thought a very primitive thought. He imagined a small chunk of stone, covered by a thin sheet of bright green, soft, and blocky grass. In fact, he saw the whole land as made of voxels. And then, the land was real. Neither was surprised. Truthfully, Herobrine was rather dissapointed.
"Flat, my friend?" He inquired Notch, "Look to the other universes, Notch, and see that compared to them this is dull. Perhaps hills will make our creation more unique?"
And Notch thought of hills, and they became true.
"Notch, if we are like gods, why not become them. Let us make men, and have them bow to us. What great fun that will be!" Herobrine said, jokingly, then he suddenly realized he possed what others would come to long for, divinity.
"Very well, but I shall appoint one above the others, to be a hero amongst them. I shall give this hero a free will," Notch said, trying already to be dominant over his parterner.
"Spended idea, I think it best that they all have free will. Oh, and friend, make for them flora, this land is so very bland and dry."
"Very well, I will picture it all. So let there be flora," Notch joked, refering to their neighbor in the multiverse, U234654. They, like all good deities, were omnipitent.  He thought, and it appeared.
"Now let us walk amongst our people. Let us fasion for ourselves bodies!" Herobrine said excitedly. He planned to make his people a just one, and he planned to be a benovlent god. Notch has the same phrase in mind, but not the same idea.
"Behold, O Villagers, your creator, Notch. I am your guardian, Herobrine," Herobrine declared. He had made up his people's name on the spot. He made himself like the nameless hero, but without pupils. Notch then descended, he had made himself a bald, beared man in dull clothes, although a scarlet cape waved behined him.
"Villagers, if you wish to remain here, keep with you these commandments. Do not kill one another. Do not insult or lie about one another. Do not steal from or bribe one another. Rather, do the reverse and worship us."
And all the villagers bowed. Notch rewarded them with livestock, to be a source of food and clothing.
Notch called forth the hero, whom he had made much different the villigers, and said to him "You are Steve. You are to live a heroic life others will envy. You will be called blessed and the first among many. But first, you must conquer the beasts I set before you. Go, and ensure my people follow my commands."
Herobrine had assumed Notch's beasts were a metaphor of the evils that would be caused by sinners, but Notch had a more litteral plan. One that would lead to the worst battle in history.
