How any time many times have you just been building a budswitch melon farm and you go to test the final product and it doesn't work? For me, a lot. With my new idea it gives the new "redstoners" a warm welcome to the community. In the new world setting there will be a "Redstone Guide: On" or Off in the More World Options. It will have classics, how currents work, clocks, repeaters, and redstone torches, and how to invert a signal. And then the "advanced" Redstonary, Like t-flip-flops, bud-switches, etc. But with this a lot more people will have more uses for redstone then it just sitting in their chest.

Dumb. Part of the fun part of Minecraft is finding it and building it yourself. Plus, it would have to be really specific and hard to find the thing you're looking for. Anyway, redstone isn't a giant part of Minecraft like it is in Tekkit.

This is good, then the fun of redstoning would go downhill for most. Because complete newbies would be making redstone creations in hours that people who have played since alpha could only make in weeks.

I think in-game mechanic guides should be left in the wikis, imagine the size of the game if stuff like EE or thaumcraft and anything else that changed how the game worked integrated it's own guide? Redstone IS complicated, but a good, detailed guide would bloat the game, and would probably be ignored by a lot of casual players, making it superfluous.
