This is a little odd to be posting on a gaming website, but I'm feeling the compelling need to rant about the crazy U.S. Government. About 1/3 of the states have their minimum wage set above the U.S. Government's standards. Many people may think that's great, but what they don't realize is how much that is actually affecting teen unemployment. Most people on here are teens, so I think it's better to educate them on this than talk about something that won't affect them until later on in life. Roughly 52% of teens across the country are unemployed, some may not see the effect of this, but it has a truly great one. Teens learn much of their work ethic and how comfortable they feel in a work environment in those low paying first jobs. With adult unemployment rising adults are taking the place of these teen jobs. One of these reasons is minimum wage. If the minimum wage of a state is higher than that of the Government, employers are going to look for people with more experience such as adults who have been laid off, not the next generation of workers, teens. Therefore the same thing that is providing more money for the average Joe, is actually taking away from the average Joe's daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, etc. I will continue to add to this as I gather more information.
