MINECRAFT MINING
This is a Minecraft Mining Tutorial.Includes regular mining (For noobs.) and how you can mine stuff. (Stuff like ores, and only vanilla Minecraft.(Without mods.))
TYPES OF ORES AND WHATS NEEDED TO MINE THEM:
Coal- The black-colored ore.Use any pick-axe to mine.Its common.
Iron- The faded orange-ish-colored ore.Use a stone pick-axe or above to mine. Its common
Lapis Lazuli- The blue-colored ore.Use a stone pick-axe or above to mine.Its kind-of rare.
Gold- The yellow-colored ore.Use an iron pick-axe or above to mine. Its kind-of rare.
RedStone- The red-colored ore.Use an iron pick-axe or above to mine. Its kind-of rare but common at a certain level.
Diamond-The light-blue-colored ore.Use an iron pick-axe or above to mine.Its rare.
Emerald-The green-colored ore.Use an iron pick-axe or above to mine. Its really rare and found in jungle-biomes or extreme hills-biomes.Added in Minecraft 1.3.
Obsidian-The black-ish purple-ish colored block that's not an ore but included in this section anyway.14 or 10 of these are needed for a nether portal/gate.Use a diamond pick-axe to mine. Its generated when water flows on top of lava.(Or generated when you put redstone dust between lava and water in a certain way.)
WAYS OF MINING/AVOIDING LAVA/KEEPING ORES UN-DESTROYED:
This is how you can mine stuff in vanilla Minecraft.
Use a pick-axe like normally, or you can use TNT and hope an ore drops.
If you're at lava-level, don't mine an ore when you're standing on top of it because there might be lava below it.You can check if there's lava below an ore by mining down and around it.(Mine stone blocks under you but don't fall in.Etc. don't stand on stone that you're mining.)
If you find lava below or around an ore, place blocks in the lava to remove the lava.
If you're mining and lava comes out of a wall that you're mining in, back away if it comes out and try to remove it.Same if mining into a ceiling. If you get into lava, try to hurry and get out and if you're on fire if you didn't get out fast enough hurry and find water.(Because you're most-likely going to die if you stay in the lava or come out on fire and not on peaceful mode while on fire.)
To keep ores from getting destroyed from something like a creeper, make sure you hurry and kill the creeper before it explodes.(Obvious.), back-away quickly before it explodes so it will stop trying to explode, (Still obvious.), or if you see a creeper near stay away from the ore and battle the creeper a certain amount of blocks away so if it explodes the ore won't be destroyed.(Still obvious.)
To keep an ore when mined from falling into lava, you're actually going to have to remove the lava before mining it.(As said somewhere above.)
If you're trying to mine to Bedrock fast and don't care about ores, you can just keep mining down but have a 2-block wide hole and mine down one side then the other so you can be careful to not fall in lava, or you can just keep placing and setting off TNT.
You can't mine Bedrock though without mods or without being in creative.
That's actually all of the tutorial because there's not that much to mining, I just wanted to make a Mining-Tutorial to fit the Minecraft theme of this site and the game and this contest.
