-Moderation o All Angles-

Hello everyone. You might think Moderating is easy or hard? But today I will show you what everyone thinks about it. From server moderation to PMC.

Just before we start read this interview about our lovely site moderator Elijah_Blu (Questions are bold and answers are italic, everyone knows that they are italic):

When did you become a moderator?

I became a moderator in December 2011.

What did you think about moderating at start?

I thought it was a tad complicated and I felt I had to be very responsible with the power I was given. So I did my best to check and double check.

Did you ever want it?

I was never really trying to get it, it was given to me. I want it now.

Your first moderation experiance?

At first I was a forum mod. But mostly I modded chat, of course back then chat mods didn't exist.

How do you feel about being a moderator after a lot of time?

I love it, I love this site. I love the community.

Server Moderation

The most basic moderating style, everyone starts with this usually or never. Lots of player thinks this is easy and makes you powerful but that is ironic. The realty is that the owner of the server always yells at you to do stuff, players annoy you like o He took my diamond!o and so on. Here you can look at other angles of it:

Normal players think that it easy and all they want is to abuse the power of it like creative and bans. To be a mod on a server is usually hard unless you are friend of the owner. Mods usually dono t/cano t abuse because of the pressure of the owner or to earn it they really worked hard and will too. Some players think it is TOO hard because owner might not let you be a mod after all those effort or you are a lazy person that even cano t say how you can go to spawn to a new member in server. Some of the people are really much different. They are donors. They think they are special than everone because they have money. They think that a mod cano t ban them or they can be a mod faster than normal players, but they usually play with the owner, help him (build a mansion for themselves and share it with owner, made by creative).

PMC Moderation

As you read the interview (or not), you found some information that how hard it is in real. Members in PMC thinks its a joke or too easy and they want to be a mod too. But it is really hard (but Elijah_Blu doesno t think it is hard).

Members are usually break rules or do mistakes, just to waste time or make trouble without noticing it. Like posting in wrong forum sections. And moderators must check every page and fix them. Time wasting, isno t it?Some members want to be mod and they cano t get it easily because there are millions of more members. Some members but try really hard like reporting every wrong post, read the rules everyday at least once, or be a mini-moderator and comment to wrong posts o This is wrong, should be moved to [insert your name] sectiono when they do it, it annoys mods, like if you were a builder and someone stole your job and then you went home poor/hungry, would it be nice? Moderators, like chat mods get it easy because it is? How hard can it be? Just checking the links, giving warnings and have a chat? It is even not moderating some people say but wrong, you need to be online for a lot time in a day and look at everything, kick people... lots of annoying stuff. And other, higher ranking moderations are harder but I am not going to write them.
