Moderators Vs. Members:

As PMC continues to grow, Moderators' jobs become much harder and more stressful which causes members to become more stressful. When most members get stressful, they tend not to handle it in the most professional way.

The reason I say this is because in the last week, many users were "unhappy" with how we were moderating so most decided to make public blogs about it, forum posts etc. This my friends is by far, the most unprofessional way to handle your problems against one person or a group of people.

Let's start off with an example. Say a Moderator bans you from the chat for swearing and spamming. You are unhappy because you think that you did nothing wrong. So, instead of contacting that Moderator or a different Moderator privately, you decide to address to the whole public because you think they need to know. When they don't. The reason the public doesn't need to know about one small issue that happened between you and a Moderator is because people will start choosing sides and forming lynch mobs against each other. That's something no site needs. If you ever have a problem with how someone is Moderating, take it up with the other Moderators as they can do something about it. The public cannot.

As I was saying, this past week I've been seeing an abundant amount of these types of forum posts and blogs. It's quite sad to see that most of them consisted of things saying they were banned and they hate the Moderators for doing that. Just as the saying goes, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Other things I have been seeing are members saying that Moderators need to do their job better. Which could be quite true, at points we do in fact need to do our job better but you as a member need to help. You need to do your job better. What I mean by that is following the rules and you will then make our lives easier and will help us do our job better. With all this crazy amount of people breaking the rules and us not being able to catch it all, people are getting angry when you guys have the option to report things that you see so we can catch them. Members are just as important as Moderators because without members, we wouldn't be able to catch anything that is going wrong.

So I hope this blog gets you thinking on this situation that has been spreading all over PMC this past week. Thank you.

Think about your responsibility. If you were to be a forum mod, you'd go through forums making sure there was no spam/stuff breaking rules, and stuff that's in the wrong place. If you were a GLOBAL mod, well, I think you get my point.
