General Review/Favorite Content
Restoring Force definetly will make it into my favorite albums in the Metalcore genre. The album is very well done with neat screams/growls and sounds nice. There are good lyrics in the songs and you can tell if you know some history of the band and it's members that they really have some good meaning. Of Mice & Men really outdone themsleves when they made this album (in my opinion)! All members of the band played to the best of their ability when making all the content and it really payed off- they have many fans and have played concerts like the Vans Warped Tour and have almost always sold out whatever venue they were playing at! Austin Carlile, the scream vocalist, says that they began with the most important past of the song first and then worked around it- a process they did with every song in an interview with Hot Topic, a popular music based store.
There are eleven song in the Restoring Force album but my top three songs are Public Service Announcement, Identity Disorder, and last but absolutely not least You Make Me Sick. These songs all have meaningful lyrics and it is clear that the band enjoyed working and creating these songs. Public Service Announcement tells how Austin was put in jail for three days because he fought with a man that was making fun of a fan of his' with bone cancer who had recently died, but how he would have done it again because what the other man had said was wrong and that he would rather say something than stay silent. This song is a favorite of many because of its meaning- all the other songs aswell.
General Rating
I'd give this album a 7/10 because the songs were well done and everything overall was just outstanding! Of Mice & Men will certainly leave a legacy in their genre of music!
