Hey there, Planet Minecraft, I'm here to submit my thoughts on minecraft-pg5's Underground II: Winter is Coming!

The Story
The story behind the map is that the surface world is facing an apocalyptic winter that will last for 200 years, and that the only way to survive the cold is to burrow down deep underground and live in the caves. I know that it seems a little out there, and I have to say that story isn't exactly a large part of the map. In fact, the only place that you actually see anything regarding a story is in the advertisement video. The only hints that there's some massive cold spell affecting the surface world actually in the map is the occasional pile of snow or ice block in the caves. However, I don't feel like this lack of story in the game detracts from the map. The kind of gameplay that the player has to get used to is kinda fun when you get the hang of it. The feeling of being able to stay in your mine forever with no chance of ever seeing the light of day is something that I feel like a lot of players wish to experience in vanilla Minecraft. If that player is you, then this map has got a lot in store!

The Map
Now to get on to the actual map. You're set in what I think is roughly the middle of a 2000x2000 chunk of stone, ores, and caves. Scattered throughout the map are various villages, tombs, and even an underground city! There's no way to the surface, nothing below you, which means that all there is for you to do is explore as much of the caves and rock as you can in the hopes to survive with your donkey Bobo. All of the ores that you know and love from vanilla generates, and you're given the opportunity to do just about as much as you could on a regular world. The map features some pretty outstanding builds, but the only way you'll be able to see them all for yourself is if you download the map and find them!

Overall
Overall, I really think that the map satisfies what I, as a player, really look for in a survival/adventure map. Looking at the massive map size, the sheer amount of detailing that was put into the build, as well as the 100+ challenges waiting to be completed, it really seems like the creator outdid himself on this one. The map provides an almost addictive setting, leaving the player breaking that last block in the hopes of finding just one more ore. The challenges give the player goals, and with as many of them as there are, it's safe to say that anybody who downloads the map with the intent to finish them all will have many hours of gameplay lying ahead of them.

Then again, who am I to judge for you? In order for anybody to have any real idea of what a map holds in store for them, they have to experience it for themselves. Make sure you follow the link I'll paste below here in order to download the map and truly experience the Underground life for yourself! Hope you found the review...something nice, I guess? Make sure that if you have any comments on what I've gone through, be it an argument towards my emotions, or something that I might have forgotten to mention, you post them down below! Also, leave a diamond if you thought that I did a good job of reviewing the map! With that, I bid you the best of luck on all of your adventures!
