First announced on Nintendo Direct, Minecraft is coming to the 3DS, and I'm here to share first initially thoughts on the new game. To give you a little context behind it, Nintendo Direct is a stream on the Youtube channel "Nintendo." They announce new games or updates. The game was announced along with Fire Emblem, Rocket League, and Apollo Justice.
When they first announced, I loved it! It was perfect! Now you don't have to buy a Nintendo Switch, or a PlayStation Vita. You can just buy a 3DS and play Minecraft, but there are some limitations to the 3DS edition. The world is only about 2000 blocks by 2000, and the height is half of a normal Mnecraft word, while a normal Mnecraft world is 3 million by 3 million blocks, but this limitation doesn't really affect us because 2000 by 2000 isn't that big of a change, maybe if you get a bigger SD card, then you can get more space for you're world.
Some other limitations is online. They have plans to do Local Play, which means you can play with people around you or near you, but there not planning to do online play. This means they're not planning to have any servers. Maybe in the future they can add it, but I don't see any hope for it right now. This also means it's probably not gonna be apart of the crossplay program which I did a blog on which you should check out.
Minecraft 3DS edition has a lot of potential, but it is let down by the lack of features that could be added. Of course, I will still buy it, but I still wish they would add more, but don't get be wrong, they could add the features I want, but right now, it's kind of a small universe. It's only the start of this new concept. It could become so much bigger in the future.
