Hello!
My friend needs help with a lot of things, mainly maps and mods, so I making a blog series for everyone who needs help pertaining to this topic!
Step 1: Finding your mod-
Most of you want a mod, but first its best to look through them all, and find at least 1 to start with. I'd start with Jammy Furniture for the aesthtic feature people,Biomes O Plenty for a more adventures person, or Minecraft Comes Alive for the people that hate Testificates or Villagers. You should also download Minecraft Forge, the download will be at the bottom, along with the forum page for Jammy Furniture, Biomes O Plenty and Minecraft Comes Alive.
Step 2: Installing Forge and installing your mods-
First you need to install forge, because it will run your mods and all. First go to the green start button on the bottom of your screen. Click it and go to run. Search %appdata% and go into your .minecraft. Find the folder called bin and double click it. Right click your minecraft.jar, and go over open with, and choose WinRAR archiver. First delete the META.INF folder, as it stops mods from running. Keep your minecraft.jar open, and download minecraft forge. Drag the download on your desktop, and right click it. Choose extract files, and wait for it to turn into a folder. Find your folder that is the extracted minecraft forge, and click it. Drag all the files in minecraft.jar, and close out the minecraft.jar. Next, run minecraft, and if it has a little bubble that says minecraft forge is setting up your minecraft enviroment or something like that, success! If minecraft forge doesnt run or crashes your minecraft, no success :c. I reccomend asking for help in the forums, as I cant help you, or minecraft forge wont run on your computer, but ask for help first. Next you want your mods. After forge has finished setting up your minecraft and you see the title screen close it out and go back in your .minecraft. You should see a mods folder. Drag your downloaded mods into that folder, run minecraft and enjoy!
