I AM STILL WORKING OUT SOME BUGS AND OTHER ISSUES ETC... PLEASE WAIT FOR MORE UPDATES ON THIS PROJECT/BLOG. PLEASE CHECK THE UPDATES.

Hey there fellow Minecrafters!

I'm JerielSR1, I'd just like to show you my new redstone hard drive theory. I am still in the process of actually making a better hard drive with working logic..... But for now, I've got the theory behind it. The hard drive is completely my own design and redstone work. I call it the Alternate Switching Hard-drive (ASD). This is because, the hard drive consists of many layers, each hold 16 bits (4 bit CPU = 16 bits per layer 8 bit CPU = 64 bits per layer). The current one I have made, has 64 bits in total of memory (4 X 16 bits).

A solid-state drive (SSD) (also known as a solid-state disk or electronic disk, though it contains no actual "disk" of any kind or motors to "drive" the disks) is a data storage device using integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data persistently.

The hard drive has an output section and a refresh section. I am still working on the storage, after the storage I will start to work on the selection section. The refresh section will be like a reset command. This hard drive will mostly work with Redstone CPU's in the style of an ALU or if they have a fully functional Input and Output bus.

The hard drive is not one with a platter of disks, but one with an array of bits and chips. It will be like ROM, but have the sufficient ROM to act as a fully functional Hard drive.

So the hard drive works by switching sections/layers on and off alternately, hence the name Alternate Switching Hard-drive. It currently works for redstone devices such as ALU's and small scale BASIC GPU's (or at least direct to the screen) but soon I will work out some IC Chips and get it working on its own through a RESET Line, SERIAL IN, SERIAL OUT and CONTROL line. Basically a 4 pin cable. (over 6 pins including extra pins...)

Thanks for reading guys! Please comment down on any questions or suggestions. Thanks, I will make another update in a few weeks or less. Please like my facebook page as I will be posting many updates of it on there: www.facebook.com/JSRMine

Thanks JerielSR1

I think my new computer uses one like this which I got to work. :)
It has 256 bits on 4 layers, each with 64 bits
