"No Lag" Servers [RANT]

So it is time I share my words about this to our great community.

Something I find very annoying about server banners or server advertisements here on PMC is that they tell the people that there is absolutely no lag on their servers. Now what that in reality means is that they have the server running on a very great internet speed and the server is able to tolerate many events on the same time, but "No Lag" is to me, false advertisement.

You can not promise the people that they will have no lag on a server, because the lag depends on both ends, the client and the server, not the server alone.
Let's say this: the is one boy has a terrible up and down speed on his internet. His internet is so bad he can barely load a YouTube video on 240p. The server would lag for him due to his horrifyingly slow internet. And believe me, people do have that slow internet. Just don't question it.

Anyways, he thinks the server is lagging because there is a delay of half a second when he places a block, and he complains and says that the server is bad because it is lagging so much. That again, is not the server's fault, he is the one with the slow internet, what can the host do about it? The host can not do anything more than telling the poor fellow to get a better internet connection.

Then the boy tells that there is supposed to be no lag, and that the person who runs the server lied to him by using false advertisement. This might seem like an unrealistic story but it has happened several times and I am very certain that hosts of servers can recall events like this happening. But then again, not that many people has gotten that bad of a connection, but there are some people.

I just wanted to make this rant because it annoys me that on server banners and such they slap "NO LAG!" on there even though it depends on the client's internet connection as well as the server's.
