Okay, noobs have seemed to be something almost everyone in the minecraft community know about. But Iv'e been thinking, are we treating them in the wrong way?
1.) Steve skins.
Steve skins scream "Noob!" to most people, but why? Just because they don't have a skin doesn't make them any different. Maybe they like steve's threads, other then the people who change their skin. It actually says on the website that they won't tell steve you don't like his threads, so maybe their one of the people that do like how steve looks.
Also, they could have just recently started playing minecraft and have never seen anything before, so they just don't know how to switch their skin yet.
They could also just not know how to switch it, and to make sure they don't ask them. Then you can help them switch it. So really, you can't be mean to someone with a steve skin.
And finally, they could just be "using" a Direwolf20 skin, it depends.
How can I help them?
If you help them out with switching it instead of saying(I have actually heard these comments before) "ewwww steve" "omg so many steve noobs" or even "switch your skin you ugly steve" please encourage them and tell them how to switch it. (Also, if you like the steve skin, I am NOT calling you a noob! I just hear people thinking people with steve skins are noobs! You aren't a noob if you like the steve skin, this was just to stop people from tinking that.)
2.) New players.
If you see someone struggling to craft something, they may be a noob. But that doesn't mean you need to shout, "Haha! You don't know how to make a _______! You noob!" They're obviously new to the game if they don't know how to make a door or wood planks. ( Trust me, my brother laughed so hard when I asked how to make a door.) At least give them constructive criticism instead of making fun of them.
How do I help them?
To help them, tell them how to make what they are struggling with or tell them to look it up online.
3.) "butter" (I am not trying to bring this back into the community, sorry)
Are people that say butter instead of gold Noobs? I actually don't think so. If they like to call it butter, so be it. They can say it if they want. I mean, I say butter instead sometimes, not a lot but I do. On the other hand, however, if someone is flipping out to the max over gold and just screaming butter over and over in the chat or making a huge enough deal about squids that it might as well be world war III, those people are probably noobs because their spamming the chat. What to not do is yell back at them like, "SHUT UP ABOUT BUTTER NOBODY CARES ITS GOLD!" thats just mean. Just tell them to calm down for starters. If they don't, don't ask an admin to ban them because of them being annoying. You could also ask them nicely to not spam the chat and just yell outside of the game at least. Also please just be nice to them, you shouldn't act like you're better because you don't say butter.
4.)PvP noobs (oops this applies to me haha)
There are some people out there that are bad at PvP. So?
Well, they are probably not very experienced with fighting in minecraft, because they could be in peaceful singleplayer most of the time, their always fighting the OP teamers, are on whitelisted servers (that dont have pvp) and are opped, or are mostly on minigame servers.
What to not say is something like: "Hah you're so eZ noob" or "Can you even fight?"
How can I help them?:
First, you might want to be good at making up strategies.
And you should be good at PvP yourself.
If you want to help them, tell them some good strategies that you have used and are successful, other then just running away, or just rapidly hitting them the second they hit you.
5.)Builder noobs(?)
I guess I could call these people builder noobs, idk.
These are the people that aren't very good at building. It might be houses, or skyscrapers they're building, but heres what to NOT say no matter what! "tht house suckks were you going for a pile of poo or a house" "your bad at building like really bad" "what the heck were you trying to make?"
Heres how you can help:
Tell them some tips on making a house. Like tell them to make the wall at lease 3 blocks tall, not 2 whereas it would be very cramped under the ceiling. You could also tell them to make the walls a square, at first, then try to advance and do circle houses, "L" houses, or even triangular houses.
6.) Not so good at mini games
These people aren't very good on minigame servers, for a game or two. I'll use Hide and seek and Survival Games for example. In survival games, they might go to the bloodpool and get some good stuff, but they get killed right away because they don't have a good escape plan. Or, they hide from everyone the entire time, so they have no armor by the time deathmatch comes around. And for hide and seek, these people might not know where to hide so they stand behind a block so hopefully nobody will see them, or they hide in absolute plain sight.
How can YOU help them?:
For the survival games, tell them to run when they see someone but still hun for chests, or tell them a great strategy to get away from bloodpool quickly.
For hide and seek, tell them a good place to hide as that block or nicely tell them that they will be found if the didn't know.
Well, this is all I thought about. If you like my ideas please leavse a diamond or a favorite if you really enjoyed it!
also, if you have some other things that could help out noobs that wouldn't be extremely mean, please post them in the comments.
Thanks!

Why give a full critical review of their knowledge when the entire issue can be solved by saying "this here, this here, etc"?
Because English is not really our language
That's also why the only other two servers I've been on have been private creative servers. And I don't even go on servers at all at this point - I got griefed on one, while on the other the friend and I are... no longer friends.
So I guess I'm just an all around server newbie
