The title basically explains what I'm going to be ranting talking about in today's blog.
You know, one of the most popular plugins for a bukkit server is the money plugin, where there is virtual 'money' that people can use to buy items from the server store, or from each other.
Recently, a lot of people, mainly trollers or those who want to be rich on the server (because rich= more powerful, even if you don't have a rank) have noticed a glitch/whatever in the plugin.
The trollers and money hoarders are affected on either end, though. Ts (Trollers) and MHs (Money hoarders) say something similar to the phrase in the title to convince people that it works, and may sometimes have an accomplice to accuse of it. Then more MHs that want money and Ts that just want to annoy people by taking money do the /pay -100 command and lose money themselves.
Why?
The plugin does not notice the minus sign. Only the numbers. So -100 turns into 100, which means you're paying the trollers $100/£100/whatever currency the server uses.
I've tested the theory before, not because I want money etc, but because I wanted to know if what I was ranting blogging about today was true. And I tested it with a friend, so none of us lost money because we paid it back after we tested. Also, we only tested with $0.10, an amount we could afford to lose!
If you ever want to test this, do it with someone you trust, even if it's an amount of money you don't mind not being returned to you.
And to all you trollers out there that try to lure people into this trap-
Don't.
Stop it, now.
