False friends are words from languages that sound very similar, yet have a different meaning. Let us start:

Actually - Naprawdę - ex. naprawdę jest to tak, że/in reality it is so that
Aktualnie - Current - ex. aktualnie robię kawę/currently, I am making coffee

Lunatic - someone who is crazy, not mentally good
Lunatyk - sleep walker, someone who moves while being in sleep

Ordinary - something that is good, well done
Ordynarny - something vulgar, bad or a jerk

Promotion - you get a level up, rank higher
Promocja - discount, something is cheaper

Pasta - food, noodles for spaghetti
Pasta - cream like toothpaste or hummus

Chef - cook, high ranked cook
Szef - boss, someone above you who you must obey

Baton - policeman weapon to beat the criminal
Baton - a delicious bar, like Mars
