Operation STINK

A voice spoke the word. Odour. The dreaded, dreaded odour of the skunk.
The smell. The way it was used as a weapon. And how Doc. Maybe wanted to use it.
Against the girl. The egg.

Melody ran, flinging her fingers in the air and tossing the moss-ball in the air. Her face was all pink, because of the hell of cross country. Her friend Star grinned, throwing the moss-ball back. The grin was a cheeky one. The way she had bet Melody by 1 second. By running ahead of her when she was tying her shoelaces. Cheater.

But yet, her face was pure white. Pale, even. She even forgot about her water bottle. Melody thought about it. Why?

She kept on thinking about the ancient skunk, that had been here for 50 years, and was still alive. There was a legend that she had a baby. A young skunk. Tubes and oils with weird purple liquids..
Why was she thinking about that?

Then she had a vision. Her eyes stretched over the hills, and past the contry side. She saw it. Doc. Maybe's lab. And inside, a skunk, imprisoned in a weird tube thing.

Suddenly her eyes stretched back to where she was. Playing moss-ball. "Melody?" Said Star, stretching her hands in front of her face and waving them franticly.

Melody breathed in. What did she just see?

Star stared at her. What? Melody nodded gravely, even though she wasn't sure it was true. They were walking home together and had been discussing about what Melody just saw. "I think we should try the vention trick. " muttered Star, as they reached Melody's house. 

Melody stared at Star. "You think we should try the vention trick?" Melody said, her eyes wide. "Yea.." Said Star.
Melody, if she hadn't seen what she just saw, would have rolled her eyes with disgust. Although, she had seen what she saw with the skunk. Star had the idea to transport stuff into her virtual world in her laptop, since she had lots of junk in her room. Melody didn't think it would actually work. Star had claimed to have tested it, and it had worked acording to her.

Melody didn't think it worked. She was almost sure, but Star had turned her virtual world into a server, and given Melody a copy so she could go on and inspect everything in her laptop. On that Saturday morning, Melody logged on to Star's copy, just on a different account. "I'm calling it Minecraft, like the game Notch created but with some for mazin' stuff. " said Star. Melody looked around. She stared, amazed at how developed the game was. And so it was true, all Star's junk was here, even the old valentine's note to her crush.. Melody badly wanted to read that, but she wasn't here for that. She was here to do the vention trick.

"(skunk)" typed Melody, in the world. Suddenly the screen spammed up with all the skunks in the area. Melody groaned. This was going to be harder than she thought.

Melody scrolled down to unknown. It must be this one, she thought.
"(vention skunk10)" typed Melody.

The skunk in Doc. Maybe's testing chamber felt a weird twinge in his belly. Suddenly he felt like he was about to be thrown up in the air and caught. But he wasn't. He felt like he was shaken upside down. Then he vomited and teleported into Star's world.

Skunk10 looked at his surroundings. He was free, in a world of blocks and cubes with lots of trees. He ran around sniffing the wonderful air. 

Melody peered around the pixelated bush. There was the skunk in the glass chamber, with the same black dot on his cheek. Melody smiled. It was time she met Star.

Doc. Maybe stared at his precious formula of skunk stink. Now, even though the skunk had gone, he could finally get his revenge. What should I turn her into? Thought Doc. Maybe. A snake. He thought again.
