As you are all no doubt aware, Win Family Survival was set up by me, so that I could create a safe environment for my children to go on-line and play Minecraft somewhere that they could invite friends to join in with the fun and experience all the added fun this brings when playing on a Bukkit server.

As the server community grew and we added more and more plugins to the site, and as the Win Family Survival community grew, it still remained my number one goal to keep my children safe online.

As our membership base grew, and looking at the average age of our players, it was obvious to us we extend this level of safety to all our players. We primarily do this through moderation of the server, with the addition of 3 staff members of varying ages, we are confident that we do provide a good level of security to our members/players.

To extend this level of protection even further we have also recently added the CHATCENSOR mod to the server, this will automatically block any player from swearing or using threatening, abusive, racist language. what ever it is the offending player has said will not be transmitted to the server, instead CHATCENSOR will make an announcement that the player has broken the rules and simultaneously put the offending player into a prison on the server.

Staff & Moderators can speak to them regarding their behavior and reinforce to them the server rules, if they agree to not swear again they will be released from jail, if they break the rule again they will be banned permanently from the server.

A further tool that CHATCENSOR gives us is a full chat log, if there is any dispute about what has been said by any player, including staff members is recorded, this will enable server Administrators to settle any dispute relating to what has or has not been said.
