Passing splendour
Delicately, forcefully,
Pale poison floods a moist cave.
The venom slips
Down a crack and into a pool of swirling liquid.
They react,
Eroding, destroying.
The toxin ventures into a small cavity.
Meeting a region of vast chemicals
A reaction takes place.
Spectacular crystals form and precious minerals spread.
The event is memorable, but
The crystals are weak,
Struggling to stay strong.
They break, shatter.
Warmth emits from the destructive beauty
And the real damage reveals itself
The next day.
