I'm ranting, because people are complaining that their skins aren't get looked at just because they're new. I'm am also ranting at how many skins there are that have no shading. At least half of the entries had no shading for the previous contest and when I went to diamond my favourites, I had to go through lots of pages before I saw a skin with good shading.
There are several ways to learn shading and they're very simple. You can:
A) Have a look at someone's tutorial on how to shade then gradually work your shading skills from there. There are many on this website and they are very easy to learn. That's how I started learning about shading and it really does improve the look of your skins.
B) Add how you think shading should look on a skin no matter how bad you may think it looks, at least you'll starting from somewhere. Then upload the skin and ask for reviews and opinions on how to improve the shading. There are many people out there are willing to help other people improve their skins, all you need to do is ask.
C) Use special features on some minecraft skin making programmes.
D) Do something else apart from skinning. If you think you are really that bad at skinning or can't be bothered to add shading to your skins or learn to shade, you should do something else then.
After learning to shade a skin, you will get more views and people will be more likely to look at your stuff. The thing to then learn after adding shading would be to add texture, but that can be done another time.
Hope you learn something from this blog and thanks for viewing :)
