Ok, so this is an article about your personal information, what is safe to give out, and what isn't. First of all, many people are paranoid about giving out their name and age. Please tell me, how can someone possibly harm you with that information? It's not like someone can say "Oh my gosh, you're John Doe and you're 13 years old? Thanks, now I know where you live and your social security number! Thanks stupid!" Gladly, that kind of software hasn't been invented (nor will it ever be..). Now, for location. If I know what state you live in, how am I going to kill you? That's a really stupid idea- say I tell someone that I'm from Texas. What kind of retarded child molester would look all around Texas to find a Kirbyquerby? I will tell you something important- everyone on the internet has an IP address. When you log onto a server, the owner knows your IP address, which can give them a very close estimate of where you live, so you might as well tell them the lousy state you are in... Now, don't be stupid and go and give out your address or social security number, but be more logical about how you give out your personal information.
Thanks for reading,
Kirby

There is such a thing as birth records. Yes, the paranoia about handing out your first name is stupid, but if you have someone's last name then it's slightly more dangerous.
Also, it's against PMC's rules to give out your name (first name is fine).
