The common reed plant or phragmites. It was meant to grow around the swamp, river banks and the beach, and also a replacement for sugar cane, tall grass and grass. I made a generalized look for the poaceae family of grasses; they include sorghum, rice, bamboo, corn, oats, pampas, wheat and sugar cane. Most of them have the fluffy tuft while in bloom, and have either corn ears, sorghum spike or the common wheat grain appearance when ripe.
I wanted it to take over the banks and become bushy, instead of just one stalk. If I knew how to make it grow just one or two blocks underwater.
