Here is some ideas for the Pistons in the MineCraft 1.7 Update!
I got these ideas from the Pistons! (And my imagination! :D)

-Elevator (Somehow!)
-Castle Gate (4 High x 3 Across gate = Piston
(2 High x 3 Across. So it pushes the gate up. Use Sticky Pistons to attach the blocks your gate is attached to, to the pistons. Use fence for the gate)
-Door for Secret Room
-Lava Floodgate
-Fence gate
-Blast Windshields in War Bunker (Flip a switch and instant protection!)
-Door
-Greendaynut: "Hidden stairs!" as in the Ofic MC vid!

I saw this once when the mod was around and its a crazy cool idea, basically, put pistons jussst under the surface of lava, and when you flip a switch, instant lava bridge!

i think the new pistons burn tho. :( cause they have wooden planks. :(

Nope O: definitely not, I've made this lava bridge i talk about here, since i posted this comment (I can post a video of it) and I've also made a fire pit netherrack trap. So pistons are A O.k. for fire :)

the only problem is that how do you place the redstone? i think i know but not sure. you could probably put redstone torches underneath them, and then flip ON redstone switch to turn them off!

nope, you use repeaters to direct the current. a quick youtube search could yield answers for all the wiring problems on here lol :P everyone has already done all of the possible contraptions.
