IntroductionHello. My Name is Jax. And Hopefully, This Blog Post will help you, and others to understand the importance of playing nice. And I DONT just mean following the rules and not griefing. I mean respecting other people social boundaries on Minecraft as well as finding more polite ways to say some things, to not come off as so gruff and a total, shall we say, "Arse Face". So bascially we shall learn about manners for lack of a better term, when playing, and chatting with other Minecraftians such as myself.

Some "Manners"

Other Peoples Chests:
People Don't really appreciate it when you start to open chests just kind of - willy nilly - witout asking any kind of permission. It's a hassle on them because they have to make sure that you aren't stealing any of there hard earned loot that you shouldn't be. Your intentions may all mean well. But when you start stealing 32 iron out of someones chest, they might just get suspicious enough to blow your brains out with there diamond sword. If that's what you're aiming for... Well then.

Bragging :
EVERYONE. I mean EVERYONE hates a braggart. Or someone who countinually must say how good they are at pvp or at this archery game, or how good they can ride or a horse or somehow-seem-to-be-able-to-do-23-more-parkour-jumps-then-you-although-you-are-trying-really-hard-not-to-break-down-into-tears.... Just Me? But Yeah. There's a certain, humblness you must have with bragging. I mean look at Batman. If he went around saying he was Batman all the time, after the 50th time, no one would care. But when he casually mentions it. Everyone gasps around him. The same can be said for leaderboards. If you go into a lobby where whenever you talk an amount of kills are shown by your name, don't go in there and be like "DOES ANYONE HAVE MORE THAN ME CAUSE I HAVE A WHOLE BUTT TON AND IM SO GOOD MUAWHAHWAHAWHWAH" Yeah No. Just silently join the game, and if someone happens to say "Oh Hello Jax." You can say. "Hello Tim." And suddenly your 2501 kills pops up and possibly might stun everyone. A Certain Suave is achieved.

This section could go longer, but I think you get the point. ^^^^

Forum Posting :
When Posting on the forums, it's important to remember that when you've made an account and are posting that this repersents you. And whatever you do on the forums, will reflect on how people react to you, on the server, Or anywhere else in general. Try to keep offensive comments to a minimum, racial and sexual jokes can, and sometimes are funny, but make sure you are saying it to the right crowd, and people that can laugh at themselves. Otherwise the person that you just offended could have been your next subscriber on youtube.

And when scrolling through the tons of comments, replies, or threads that you've seen, you do NOT make it your mission to pick out every little misspelled, misplaced, or misused words and try to correct them. Although a lot of us do this, and consider it constructive critscm, it actually comes off negatively to the person and may offend them, however, you should always watch your own spelling and grammar.

Whining/Complaing :
It's Annoying, And frankly... No one cares. So Just avoid it.
HOWEVER - there are perfectly legitament reasons to complain about something. If you have received inferior service then what was said or if you were treated rudely. The way to do this is to go to the owner, whether it is by PM, in-game, or by a youtube message, however you can reach them. You take the issue to them

Compliments :
When someone delievers a compliment it is Okay to be modest, but do not be so modest that it is almost as if you are shallow. Maybe something like "Oh Thank You, that's nice of you to say, but this isn't my strong suit." opposed to "Oh thanks, but I'm actually really really bad at this." So take a compliment, and you don't always need to take and recieve compliments. If there is something to be complimented on. compliment it. If nothing is there. Then Don't.

Answering Questions :
When You answer a question you shouldn't skim around it and take forever to get to the point. I've seen a 2 minute video give the same information a 16 minute video did. And which one do you think I wanted to watch. Exactly. Same applies to humans. Even if it is a "controversial quesiton" such as if a game is copying Minecraft or what PVP strategy is the best. You must be direct and to the point, and assert your opinion. but be ready to defend it. There is a Difference between being BLUNT and being Direct.

Chatting :
I could rant about how to chat and what not. But the most critical pieces of advice I could give are
1. Think Before You Speak - It's even easier since your on the COMPUTER
2. Don't use a large amount of Text Lingo - LOL and BRB are ok. but Sk8tr and TTYL are just overkill, and doing away with the can be a WORLD of difference. This also applies to forum talk.

Apologizing :
Although this subject can be tricky, it's frankly quite easy. Be Direct, and don't apologize for non-offending things. When you say sorry and have not offended anyone, that in itself is an insult.

There is probably more to come, but hopefully this will make it easier to play nice with others in any/all minecraft servers you play on.

Sincerly,
-Jax
