Please Help

I've bought Minecraft before on a different computer and once you buy it you can download it for free on other computers and i downloaded it on my Macintosh desktop the older one was a dell laptop and I don't have any of the Minecraft files ( Minecraft files as in .minecraft and everything in it) on my mac when i had them on the dell so i can't use mods or texture packs ( the reason i want them on my mac is because it is so much better than the dell laptop) Does anyone know why i cant get the files or how to find them i have searched using Finder, Macintosh HD, and Spotlight. So please help me.
