When i open an inventory.png with paint the background turns black but when i look at the icon it's white. When i open the inventory.png with paint and edit it i must save it as a picture that still is white when i open it with paint or as a picture thats black both when i look at the icon and when i open it with paint.

How do i get that background that's white but turns black when i open it with paint to my edited inventory.png?

Don't use paint, you'll need something better that deals with transparency.

Personally can't stand Paint.net, just feels icky to use. I much prefer GIMP. Feels very much like Paintshop Pro, but it's free.

Then again, to each their own, you use what you find easier to use.
