Plugin Help: PermissionsEx

Hi Guys! Today i am going to show you how to use PermissionsEx the easy way.

Storyline: You just made a server and you want all those different ranks with a vast array of prefixes. You go on Planetminecraft and ask in the chat about the plugin. Then some guy recommends PermissionsEx. So you download it from bukkit.org and you start up your server. Then you try to configure permissions.yml. Oops, mistake here, Oops, mistake there. You Have so many mistakes and space problems the plugin cant read the yml file.

Ok today i am going to show you how to configure PermissionsEx the easy way! No, you dont even need to open the yml file to do this!!!

Ok i am assuming you have access to the console for this. So lets start!!!

Assuming you are the owner lets give you permission first. Start by typing in the console " pex group owner create "
What i just did was i just created the group "owner". I want to be in the group owner so i type " pex user Starfire1337 group set owner " Ok there you want to replace my username " Starfire1337 " with your own. Next you want the owner to have all the permissions of the server. So you type " pex group owner add * ". This command is adding the permission node * to the group owner. Ok now you can edit the permissions in game!!! So you want to be known as the owner huh? How can people tell your the real and true owner?

PREFIX!!!

Ok so lets say i want my prefix to be " [Owner] " so i will type in game " /pex group owner prefix &0[&1O&2w&3n&4e&5r&0]&f " This sets my prefix to owner. The & symbol followed by a color will give a letter specific color.
