Author's note: If this is the first thing you're reading then the picture didn't probably load which contains all the story. If you didn't catch it the new, smooth faces was referring to the emeralds. I like Garfield comics so of course I had to pick one even if the character in the story isn't a cat. I actually prefer diamond to emeralds.This was for a contest by Greytopher. I like the contest idea. It inspires a story; making work together with another story telling medium. Though a bad thing is with the comic strip it pulls you out of the story. Overall it was a very new, creative idea. Well hope you liked the story.
