I was absolutely stunned at the thought. I believed I was dreaming, but the pain was far too real. My forehead's blunt cut was trickling blood onto my hands. James stood there with a doubtful, stare. A grin began to appear, as his cloudy black eyes had a cold look.
"Get up." he told me. It was a growly voice. His nerves in his right hand was swelling. It appeared to be green, as his muscles were red and sore. He must have used a lot of strength in that clap. A surge of strength thrusted me upwards. I noticed his green mist had flown out of his hands. It pushed me to my feet, as I groaned.
"Michael, right? Rune is dead, and Thomas could be soon, we have to help him." he slowly spoke. I was nauseated, as the world around me was blurry. He grunted, as he grabbed me tightly. His grip was like a clamp stomping against me. I moaned, as he put me on his back, jumping the pillars after pillars. As he was near the location where he fell down. "Michael, can you move?" he began to ask.
"I think so." I quietly asked. Doubtful, he put his left hand on the stone pillar. His veins began to pop, as his green color, turned into a flat gray. After his whole body had formed this gray colored blood. He began to cough. He spit out a large amount of blood. It was gray as well. I looked confused, as his hands begin to clench. As he did, a stone-like substance formed from the area he clenched. It began to crawl towards up, as his whole arm turned into stone.
"Although this stone is strong, I will probably break a leg. You need to put it back together." he said with a serious expression. I suddenly thought he meant literally. I nodded. He nodded back as well.
"If you don't, we will both end up dead." he breathed.
His body at this point had turned into complete stone. His pupil's color turned into a solid gray, as he suddenly risen. I clenched on his shoulder, having the feeling it would break off, but without a warning, James jumped almost twenty feet into the air.
I looked down, frightened, to see the pillar entirely destroy. This kid was insane. As his body seemed to float in air for a second, I looked down at the lake. There was a large pool of red near the center.
As he began to soar down, crumples of stone began to fall off, as the air began to press hard against me. Suddenly, my grip let go, one of my hands tore off of him, as I held for my life with the hand I had left on him. Trying to reach for him with my left hand, it was too much force. But before I could react, an enormous amount of water drowned my head. We made it in.
I wasn't prepared if James would miss, there is no way I could collect his body parts. I was surprised of his power, although. I have never seen anything like it, it amazed me. But there was no time, I gasped for air as I floated towards the surface. In the middle of the pool of blood, we saw Thomas.
We arrived at Thomas, finding his unconscious. He wasn't breathing either. James put me down, as his hands begin to glow a bright green. When they seem to reach their max, he pressed them together. When he released it, a green, smoke-like essence traveled out of his fingertips. He slowly swayed his hands around it, moving it as he pleased. As he moved closer to Thomas, his rhythm became much more unpredictable. Suddenly the temperature around me soared. The mist formed into a rapidly spinning sphere. Without a second of thought, he pushed it against his wound.
Steam risen into the sky instantly, as what seem to look like he was hurting him, was actually healing the wound. His flesh that had disappeared, slowly dissolved into place. As his flesh healed, the skin was a lot quicker, as it regenerated fast. I have awed all day today, I instead smiled.
"He is still unconscious, but I think he's going to survive." James said, grinning.
"I can't believe it. Everything you did today, it was amazing. Dude you're awesome!" I said, sort of sounding like a butt-kisser. I felt embarrassed, but he smiled widely.
"I know." he joked.
With surprise, James knew the way to Rune's house. We couldn't find Rune's body, after searching, but I at least I knew he wasn't defeated in vain. He put down Thomas on a guest's bed, and me as well. He closed the door and walked out. I stared into the ceiling, wondering about what has just happened. I begin to tear. Rune was like a father to me, I began to sob. As I threw my hands in my face, I felt the bed tilt forward.
I slowly took a peek, noticing an old man. He had long white hair, and a leather robe. I smiled, and almost got up, before he revealed his face. I slowly recognized the man.
"It has been quite a while, hasn't it?" the old man grudged. "I told you this would happen. It was truly obvious." he began to mumble a few more words, but as he turned towards the window, I noticed the sun rising.
"Do you want to become stronger? Do you want to protect your friends and family?" the man told me in a cold tone. He turned towards me. "I will teach you how to control your powers, and defeat the monster once and for all."
I looked at my palms, slowly curling my fingers. I've lost Alena, Johnny, Mom, Master, and almost Thomas. I raised my head to look at him. His head tilted down, leaving a dark expression. "I will teach you how to control the beast that rests inside of you." he said, leaving a bruise in my chest.
I looked at the facts, James had to protect me, he had to save me. I can't be weak, I can't feel weak.
"I do." I firmly told him.
He nodded, slowly turning his head back towards the window.
