Hiyas! I'm back with another blog that doesn't really make much sense... You're happy I can tell.
So, having been on Minecraft since 1.7.3 I can't really be called a N00B anymore (It doesn't stop people from doing it, I'm just saying I shouldn't be called one) and to be frank, I couldn't really be called a N00B when I started out either since I had watched so many Let's Plays I could already do (pretty much) everything without any problems.
I'm just going to outline it for myself so I don't forget: This blog is about not judging N0-- New players.
I find as I play on servers that the most common thing that gets people called a N00B is Steve skins. Yes, our good old default skin. Does having a Steve skin mean you're a N00B? No. Yes. Maybe. SOMETIMES! Yes I admit, sometimes the Steve skin is the telltale sign of a new player, but should we judge them? No. When I had a Steve skin I could already craft everything available in the game, besides Pistons, those things just made my mind melt. What I am saying in short is you shouldn't yell out "lolz dat steve guy is a n00b lmao" on servers just because a Steve skinned player is roaming around, what I'm saying in long is don't judge people until you've spent five minutes in-game with them. If in those five minutes however they have been blown up by a Creeper, fallen in Lava, asked for OP or said that they don't know how to craft chain armor, then yes, you can call them a N00B.
What other telltale signs of a N00B are there? Well in PvP teaming is probably one, while I know alot of seasoned players team too I notice more people who team are less familiar with the game. Especially since they don't know that if they team with any experienced PvPer they will be betrayed and murdered in a very short space of time... Never try and team with me during Survival Games... I will end you... Maybe.
Well, I have gone off on a tangent again... I can't even remember what I was actually going to write for this... Damn.
OH! I remember kinda! I was going to say something about how we should help and embrace new players into our society. We are never going to have a new breed of player if all they get when they start out is abuse and citisism. The way forward is to embrace N00Bs, for as much as you might find them annoying we were all N00Bs once, and look where we are now? We're people whose lives are dedicated to a blocky sandbox game and our friends are all online, don't you want more people like us? We need them if we're ever going to take over the world... Which we can do... I know how to skin and punch trees so I am going to be alot of help in the revolution.
I'm not sure this blog made much sense but I enjoyed writing it and my arms ache now so I'm going to sign out for now and say: GOODBYE MAH LOVERSSSS
