So I haven't done one of these in a long time so how about we get to the point:

Alright I've come across shamelessly promoting yourself TOO much on this site.

There's a difference between actually gaining popularity and forcing it,shamelessly promoting yourself is the same thing as forcing it.

I've mostly come across this problem on the server section,but other sections too.

What I see on the server section:
Using false information like,SUPPORTED BY NOTCH,SUPPORTED BY THE YOGSCAST,MOST POPULAR SERVER AROUND,etc.
If it is actually one of those,then good.But if your gonna use false information like that it's not fair your just forcing the popularity on yourself,what if there is other smaller servers out there that are actually really good? and they don't deserve the chance to shine?

Texture packs,mods:
Mostly reposting popular post,what I most commonly see with texture packs is reposting texture packs like Dokucraft and just making slight changes to it just to raise your exp.

Another thing I see with this is misleading titles,for example,say you look for a mod,you see a popular mod like the Aether mod updated for 1.0.0,you download it and you see it's a completely different mod,I don't know about you but I wouldn't support that kind of stuff.

Sometimes with the misleading titles it can lead to viruses,like some person with no sense of respect at all who uses and misleading title,then you install the thing you saw and you see you got a virus,that's not cool at all.

But anyways this is a problem on this website that should really be stopped,if you see anything with false information,please report it to a moderator or the owner before this problem starts to become more serious.
