so in order to do the terrain trick go into single player and create a new world then set it to creative mode. after that go to more optoins and then select the world type superflat after that. click on add presets then add the dessert preset and then remove all of the layers exept for the sand. after that you ready to test run your world. once you join the world it just looks like a normal dessert. so to make the terrain trick happen you just dig i think 8 blocks deep but dont fall out of the world! after that you will have a cool looking terrain. but it could be very laggy. it also works with gravle. because red sand, sand and gravle has gravity.
