It was 9:30pm, an average evening for Detective Ronnie Roger. He had just gotten to the station and poured himself a nice black coffee. As he sat down at his desk, an officer walked in and handed him a file titled “Rachel, Olivia” He opened the file and read out the following. Olivia had last been seen by her friend Alexa after soccer practice at 5pm. He sat there wondering what had happened, and how long he had before something bad had happened. In the file were also three statements, one from her father, mother and Alexa Richards, the last person to see her.

He read the first statement, the one from her friend Alexa.

“Around 7pm, we finished soccer practice. Olivia and I got changed out of our uniforms and she decided she’d wait with me till my mom came to pick me up. When my mom came, she offered Olivia a ride home but Olivia said no and that’d she’d make her own way home. Around 8:30 pm we got a call from her parents saying she hadn’t returned home yet and we got worried and drove right over there.”

He put down the statement, it sounded like she had been kidnapped but he didn’t want to say anything to the parents before he was sure. He then read the parents statements. Both of the parents statements stated that she is normally home by 8, and no later. This started to make Det. Roger think even more that she had been kidnapped, but he still couldn’t be sure yet.

Just as he finished reading the statements, Olivias mom bursted through the door.

“My daughter wouldn’t just wander off on her own! shes out there somewhere! You need to find her!”

“I’ve read both of your statements, we can’t be sure about anything right now but we are trying our hardest to find her


As Roger began walking to his office, he was stopped by an officer. The officer whispered something to him and then walked away. Roger looked back at the parents and the sighed. He walked back over to them.

“We found Olivia’s bag in east bronx.”

“Can you get any fingerprints off it?”

“We are still trying to find some, but one of the straps was ripped, which could indicate there was a struggle.”

“Oh my gosh” She turned to Mr Rachel and began to cry.

“We are having all available NYPD officers search the area. We will find her.”

About an hour had passed before there was another lead. They had managed to get a fingerprint from the bag. It belonged to a Sid Rafter. He had been arrested for assault twice and was on parole. Olivia had been a witness in the case. They immediately went to his house. They searched his house and found pictures of Olivia. They took pictures of all the walls for evidence and examined everything very carefully. As they were leaving the house, Det Roger instructed for two officers to stay behind incase he came back.

As they were heading back he heard a call out on the radio.

“Can Detective 6438 please report to 5279 Parkchester in the east bronx, a body has been found.”

Upon arrival, he got out of his car and walked over to the body. It was Olivia, she was lying on her back face up, as he approached her he looked at her face,it was seemingly flawless, except for one thing, she was dead.
