Server help?

I recently set up a hamachi server for me and my friend, we've both downloaded it and have joind the same network how ever it still says cant connect to the server...we both have good internet connections, we are both in my house in the same room but its highly unlikely that that has anything to do with him not being able to connect this sounds really nooby and knowing me i've proberly missed out a step....the servers all set up properly btw :) i know your DONT have to help, but all help would be highly grateful as we want to get this server big.
