SERVER RANT WITH QUESTIONS
Please excuse the wall of text..
When I set in my mind the thought of starting up a server; I had no clue what I was doing. Like many Minecraftians with the ambition to start a server, I had visions of happy players jaunting to and fro with smiles aglow, playing in a world of my creationo ¦ Then I got sucker punched in the sacko ¦ The truth was I had no idea what I was doing and whato s worse is; everyone knew ito ¦
After staff was picked; (All of which are older than 20) the spawn city built and plug-ins worked on; (And are still being messed with) I discovered the truth about many servers. Many of them fade into obscurity before ever really getting to meet the public. So whato s the deal?? Why the server hate?
I have read here at PMC that you guys wanted something new; to be involved in the creative process of server functionso ¦ Suggesting plug-ins, Content and builds, even events and awardso ¦ Many of the servers around want to be popular; just like we do, but it seems most folks dono t want to put in the effort. Why?? What makes a server attractive to you? Nice staff? Epic builds? Do you want OP right out of the gate?? Do you want it so easy? Do you want a carbon copy of the next guyo s server?
I believe a game worth playing is one that you have to work at. If I wanted easy, I would stick to creative mode on single player and be done with it. So why the hate when I say you cano t have creative? Why argue about the prices on the server when the economy has been balanced by an actual business student? Do you really think Io m giving out OP when youo ve been on the server for less than 10 minutes?
What is it that potential players want that I am not seeing? Can someone here grant me a grain of wisdom here? How do I get dedicated players who are not op requesting, creative spamming hounds who want an easy server? I await your input. As always, thank you for your timeo ¦.
