So I've always thought that I couldn't make skins and it would be very hard to do but when I tryid it, it wasn't that hard and I believe that I can make some semi-good skins. You just need some inspiration, you can for example find a picture of someone (Let's say Notch.) Then you can try and make the skin look like the person/thing you got a picture of. (In this case, Notch.) This will make it easier to make look-a-like skins.
You can of course also make skins that aren't look-a-like. And please do not make Steve skins or Teenager boy / girl skins. Yesterday I saw a rant post about the "skinners" that were making steve skins, teenage girl/boy skins etc. DO NOT MAKE THESE, THEY ARE HORRIBLE. Unless you are a very good skinner and make something fantastic you should not make these kinds of skins.
It is also very awesome to upload them here at PMC even though alot of bad skins is uploaded. You'll eventually get better but please practice and do not upload others work here it is really annoying to get something stolen.
And to end this rant / somekind of tutorial I will give you a link to a fantastic program to make skins.
