Small Server Rant/Proposal

Hi guys I have come to realize that multiplayer minecraft has just become overrun by huge servers that pull in a ton of money and use it to buy more and more pointless stuff (eg: minigames survival games etc...) wich when there is a few nice minigames then yes it can be fun but when you look at almost any server these days you realize that theres so many useless function and games from minigames to anything else a server can come up with just to get you to buy some fancy vip rank that will make you op and cause you to get tired of easily murdering those of us that either dont want to buy a rank or cant afford the crazy price of there vip ranks. If you go now and look on a servers list and enter any ip from the top pages you will spawn and first be spammed out by the server telling you "vote for this" and "vote to get $500" and then when you want to play something you have to search around the massive spawn for a portal to go to some other world. One of the things I hate the most and you can find this on almost any big server that offers survival is that when you go on survival theire is always a spawn protect (from the point of where you enter the wild) and then you go out some and it goes from regular landscape right into grieflantis with its beautiful cobblestone houses that are destroyed to the point that they are just some floating blocks that may crudely resemble a box to its peacefull biomes filled with what used to be fairly nice houses but now are just piles of lava and fire. And last of all pretty much all the servers have lost that community feel. You used to be able to go on a server and greet the players because you knew them and chances are you knew the owner and if you needed help with anyhing you could personaly ask them but nowadays its a rarity to even know there name much less even speak to them. All in all I like how minecraft used to be, community based and where people could learn and adventure together and where there wasnt a ton of useless games (not saying that all games are useless) and ranks that only the rich people purchase just to make everyone else feel bad and like I said I miss how minecraft used to be.

So you probly just read that and said "Yea i agree but.......so what it isnt going to change. My responce is "it will change if we do something" now Im not saying all big servers deserve to go away because some of them actuly have a few fun games but I just miss the community feel of small servers. Again I can hear you saying "whatever" but i have a proposal I was wondering if i made a small server would anyone want to play on it with me? I will update my post with an application so i can whitelist it (I want to sort out the griefers/people who dont realy care if they get on). But anyway thats all i have to say for now just want to know if you feel the same and if you would join a server where there are no plugins of any sort and the punishment for stealing or griefing is perma-ban (Much like mindcrack).
