Good of you to come folks. Recently, LEGO has set up a project called LEGO CUUSOO.
It's run like this. You suggest a LEGO model idea, and if it gets enough support, around 10,000 supporters, then LEGO makes it official.

So the guys over at Mojang suggested LEGO Minecraft, and thanks to Michael Thomas, has two examples of what it might look like. Lego Minecraft achieved 10,000 supporters in a matter of two motherfucking days. For comparison, it took Shinkai 6500, another project, 420 days to reach 1,000. Due to the overload of LEGO MC votes, LEGO had three website overloads.

LEGO's official response to LEGO Minecraft:
"Okay, we get it. You have a passionate community who wants to see Minecraft themed LEGO sets...""...We admire your passion as a community first and foremost of Minecraft fans, and second as LEGO fans...""...Weo re also pleased with how Mojang and the builders behind the original fan-created Minecraft project, o koalaexperto and o suparMacho,o worked together in a collaborative and giving spirit. Ito s a great story, and our hats are off to you for that..."

So LEGO gave a lot of kudos to the massive amount of fans and support. Moving on, LEGO says they send the idea up to a "LEGO jury" made of product managers, designers, and other LEGO team members to be reviewed.

"...We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product, including playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand...""...This sounds obvious to you as a Minecraft fan (Minecraft blocks and LEGO bricks look similar, so of course it's a fit), but every LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards...""...review is a 1-2 week process. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell Minecraft LEGO products. We will inform you of our decision, and if green-lighted, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase..."
So LEGO's also saying that the approval of LEGO MC is a big "IF". It still needs to be approved, now even if this is approved, it'll still take several months for it to be produced.

Oh, and at the bottom of LEGO's comment, it said this:"Note: If your idea is selected, the LEGO Group will make the final decision on how your proposed product should be produced, the final design, applicable licenses, production run size, sales channels, etc."
So LEGO can change anything it wants. Including how it looks.

Check out the original post on CUUSOO here.

I personally like the LEGO Minecraft idea. A bunch of small blocks used to make cubes, and the cubes can be taken apart and be put together to make anything. It's adorable. But I'm also curious as to what happens if it doesn't get approved. Will second place take it's place as winner? Or will the race still run until something else get 10,000 supports? If it does get approved, we all know we'll have a blast with it.
Until next Spiffy Product, folks...
