Stop stereotyping.
Most people would bypass this article saying "Im not stereotyping, I dont need to read this."
Well you could be, and you might not know.
What is stereotyping?
Google defines it as "a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing." In other words, Sterotyping is having a certain opinion on something, influenced by a certain idea. Its kind of like saying "All muslims are terrorists." Well, not all muslims are terrorists. My best friend is muslim and she is not blowing up the school or something. This idea was probably influenced by the 9/11 terrorist attack in 2001. No offense intended if you are muslim, its just an example.
What does this have to do on PMC/MC?
Well, first off, I'm a girl, and ive been on many servers where guys say "Girls dont play minecraft"
That's stereotyping, because they are basically are saying only guys play minecraft. Well guess what? Im a girl and im playing minecraft. Omg. I just proved you wrong. Another example is on pmc. All I see on Skins popreel is shaded skins (except that cool illusion skin). The PMC society is basically pointing out that non shaded skins arn't good. Or popular. If you are disagreeing with me, this is just how I see things. How come i've never seen like a non-shaded boy/girl skin? "Well, because they suck." Some guy is saying out there. Well, my friend doesnt shade and his skin rocks.
What does this have to do with real life?
Well, constantly, in my school, people judge my friend and they say shes ghetto because she is black. Really? Not all black people are ghetto. Not all blondes are dumb. Not all girls like pink. Not all men like sports. This is the problem in this world. Can you accept that, not all people are like something? Everyone is different. Of course, there may be a blonde that is dumb, a girl likes pink, a man likes sports, or a asian person knows ninja moves. Just because of the looks, race, or in general, someone likes something.
Well, thats all I have to say. Thanks for reading. Post in comments if you have something to say. Diamond if you agree stereotyping is not 'cool'.
Note from the Author:
So hey guys. Ive read the comments on my blogs. Thanks for the support.
I have to disagree to that. Shaded skins= more detail/hard work. It took
me around 1-2 years of testing out shading styles and stuff to get my
shading style. Unshaded skins=less hard work. All you have to do is
design a base for the skin and colour in. Simple. If you add the shading
then you have to do 10x the work you just did. I mean, look at the
armor skins HybridWarrior makes, he makes it look stunning and
absolutely perfect with shading. If you took out the shading and only
had the base and colours... well... it would look less awesome. Just
saying, I think shaded skins deserve way more credit than un-shaded
skins

I know. I agree with you but, people still work hard even though they cant shade. I really appreciate you posting your own thoughts and opinions!
Was this kid really whining about non-shaded skins being equal to shaded ones? Gotta agree with Cherry.

Come on, that's a 1st grade quote ಠ_ಠ
"8-12 year olds are immature and say budder all the time I mean like what and same with tomboy skins i mean combe on!"
On unshaded skins though, I personally feel they are almost always not as good as a shaded skin, as shaded ones tend to take far more effort and add detail into a skin most unshaded ones don't have. Though people do put effort into unshaded skins, a shaded one is MOST LIKELY better because of the techniques involved. It's not a stereotype, it's a combination of respect for the effort put into it and personal taste.
It's just not possible to watch out for everyone, or make people stop stereotyping. Best bet is probably to try to respectfully discuss it with the person without trying to appear as a white knight or being overly hostile.
