It's been a while, Journal.
I've been progressing a good bit during the time I wasn't writing in you. I've found that source of energy. Once I mined it, I remembered the name. It was Redstone. Actually, the list I made in my last journal is almost all crossed off. The wheat is planted and grows pretty well, I dug out a basement and a built a second story to my house, and found Redstone. The only thing that's missing is the thing that can break that obsidian. I have a good feeling about today, though. I have a feeling that today is gonna be the day I find it. I've been digging for weeks, and if the material actually exists, but is just rare, it's surely good enough to do the job. Oh, yeah! One thing I accomplished that wasn't on the list: I made a watch. It's kind of a pocket watch and very simplistic, but it helps keep track of the days, and right now it says it's about in between noon and morning. The day is young, Journal. I'm gonna go find me some good stuff!

Diamonds! Diamonds, of course! I spent the whole night mining, but I finally found some. Why didn't I think of it sooner? I was digging when I broke into a ravine, and lava was freaking everywhere! Through all the heat and light from the lava, I saw the beautiful blue sparkle of it. I dug my way all around the pit of lava until I finally reached it. I think I collected enough to make a pickaxe, maybe even enough to have some left over. Anyway, I'll stop writing now... I need some sleep. It was hot and tiring in that mine... I'll see you whenever.
