I have to be honest, since Notch left Minecraft it has gone downhill. It has become slightly more unrealistic since beacons came in, what is the point of a beacon; all it does is launches a massive light beam into the sky, The new mob types such as the new wither and the wither skeleton, there is no need for that.
The alteration between skeleton types is ridiculous as well, they make it easier to survive.

Also there has been more Minecraft.net crashes than there has ever been. Servers go down involuntarily worlds may have been rolled back. I expected more from Mojang.
