10,000 years ago a dark mass void of all healthy life drifted through space. Chancing a pass near the peaceful and ever-green realm of Sypheria. As it passed, part of the dark mass pealed off and struck into Sypheriao ¦ Down on the surface, dark goo coated all the trees, and all animal life. This taint of the land drew the focus of the four great creators, for they had long looked after Sypheria and everything that happened on the world they had deemed the home of legends. The god of spirit, Alo Elune, wanted to clean up the taint and remove it from a home she thought should be devoid of darkness. The god of Earth, Boro Gorrok, wanted to bury this blight beneath his great mountains, never to return. The god of flames, Shayaio Farir, thought they should use the blight to change the world, while the god of water, Waaso Gredor wanted to take the blight for himself and mix it with the sea to dilute it.
The gods argued over what to do with this shadow that seemed to spread over the land. Eventually the gods came to a decision, they would split the world into four great realms, thus splitting the elements and removing the shadow from parts of the world. Thus started the Great Sundering of the world. Each god, jealous of each others creations constantly tried to one up the other. Alo Elune created a vast forest, teaming with all sorts of peaceful life. Boro Gorrok created the grandest mountains, which pierced the sky and had caverns so deep light could not pierce the thick shadow. Waaso Gredor created great planes of grasses and forests, filled with lakes and ponds. Shayaio Farir took the dark blight and bound it to the land he created. Through grand flames, mountains sprung up and endless plains of soot and rock formed. It seemed that the dark mass turned all things into shadow thus tainting the land.
However it was Shayaio Farir that gave Sypheria perhaps its greatest gifto ¦ Life. After being disappointed that the land he created was so devoid of anything, he created the first beings, humans. Ever being jealous, Waaso Gredor stole some of Shayaio Fariro s humans and put them into his great land. While Boro Gorrok wanted beings to inhabit his great mountains, he created a creature, which was short to deal with the lower heights of the caves, also strong enough to lift stones. He created the first dwarves.
Alo Elune pondered for 2,000 years over what she would create, after finding the humans of the flame and shadow tainted by the land, now transformed into something entirely different, she dislike them. Waaso Gredoro s humans were greedy, and stole from the land and bent it to their will. While Boro Gorroko s dwarves were too obsessed with their mountains and mines to love or care for the vast forests she had created. Alo Elune made a new being, one that was one with nature, and more importantly, could commune with her for guidance and power. She breathed life into the first of the Elves, creating the first tranquil species, imbued with several great powers of herself.
The other gods, seeing what was done, also granted their beings with powerful objects, as they could not simply do it by nature since they were not created with the gift. It had to be given later, in a non-permanent form. Hundreds of legendary objects holding grand powers were implanted across the realm of Sypheria. The tainted humans of Shayaio Farir now called Shatari waged war with the peaceful nations of the humans and dwarves, still unaware that a new being had been created in the deep forests. For 5,000 years the dwarves hunkered down in their mountains, resisting the evil. While the humans openly battled on the plains of their land and the Shatari. Finally, the humans claimed victory over the Shatari and brought almost all great objects of dark power back to their capitol cities. And the Sypheria had a long lasting peace between the races for 2,000 years.
Now only 9,000 years after the great creation, the darkness stirs in the heart of the Shatari lands, Mocko alo Thor. And the great human capitol Mayiro Lithos has split, as human jealousies have warred each other since 500 years after vanquishing the Shatari. Now split, the humans have destroyed much of their world, and are struggling to hold back the blight that extends toward their cities, and their children.
This is where our story begins. In a land torn by a war, jealousy, and greed, the great elves of the forest Elundar have come to reveal themselves to the world. For it is in their being to preserve the peace and tranquility of the land.
