Texture pack creator?

im looking for something that is photshop, paint.net etc that is like skin edit only for texture packs does anyone have a good program like this? If yes that would be great because is very annoying to open paint.net and messup on certain areas it would make texture pack creating SO much easier. so does anyone have a good idea if yes why dont you post it in the mod section for EVERYONE

i would second buttheads recommendation. gimp is perfect for texturing.

I recommend Gimp, here is a link to download the latest version: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win/files/GIMP%20%2B%20GTK%2B%20%28stable%20release%29/GIMP%202.6.11%20%2B%20GTK%2B%202.16.6/gimp-2.6.11-i686-setup-1.exe/download, if a download thing pops up then just click save and run and download it.
