This is a short article to help you non-raiders out there fortify your base against the Diamond Clad Fools that run around bent on destruction and chaos.

1. It helps to use a method of small-castle like windows.

A. Make a small 3x4 frame, this works with cobblestone, stonebrick, all types of wood, and sandstone!

B. In the hole, put a staircase, the same kind as the frame. Make sure it's right side up!

C. Put an upside-down staircase on the top of the window above it!

D. Put slabs on the bottom, so you can see out.

E. It helps to put the first two windows back to back, it makes a more even window. (you can see this used in some of my Mini Castle series projects)

Also, Another method, lot's of raiders LOVE enderpearls! So, you can discourage them by filling your base with lots of seperate rooms, each with doors in the doorways leading from room to room, if they havn't stolen your faction land, this is a great way to harass them! Just make sure the doors are not open remotely (pressure plate, lever, ect)

Furthermore, the new tripwires can help alot in mountain fortresses! Make long rooms with pillars siding them, so they look pretty innocent. Put tripwires here and there, make sure the hooks are between the pillars, it helps if the tripwires are in the air, some raiders will look on the ground for them. Note: It helps to put the dispencer right abover the tripwire, or below if the tripwire is in the air! That way they get shot the second they touch it! Not many people have the hand-eye cordination to dodge that.

Another thing you can do, False entrances, I use these alot!

make you're main door look menacing! Try to make it look heavily fortified and be sure to build it thick! A deep pit around your base helps from creeper chargers..... Make sure the pit is claimed so they can't build bridges! It also helps to have simple bridges, easily seen from inside the base, in a spot were you can position archers, It can help to have claimed doorways on the bridge...

Then, make another entrance look simple, a wooden door with a pressureplate, the raiders will think of you as a noob, however make behind that door a room with hidden traps, maybe a window into it, so if you see a raider enter, you can open up the floor with pistons! Or repeatitly fire dispencers full of arrows, be sure that there is only a pressure plate on the Outside!

Secret exits can help too! Like a tower, stratigicly placed so that you can jump from it into water that is two layers or deeper, so you don't get hurt, Ender Pearls can help you get away too! Throw them far!

Decoy bases may be of assistance, A little shack, out in the woods, aways away from your factions, some of the lesser intellegent raiders may think this is your only base, be sure it has a window, with a visible workbench and furnace! If you are low on power, the raiders could claim this base thinking it's yours! Lowering the ammount of land you own, thus making it less likely for them to claim your base.
