Day #3 - Steve
I am not one for interdiction, but here we go. Hello, I am Steve. If you are writing, cognates! You are reading probably the last words from me. Before I start my Guide let me inform you on my current situation. I am lost.
I was walking back from a successful mining trip and I had to cross a rocky ridge. As I was just about through this rough patch of my journey, my body shifted and the gold ores and Lapis pulled me down to the bottom of the c. There I woke up with nothing on me but me book and quill.
I can’t make it back up. I have nothing on me, but my book and quill and I hear them, whispering in the night. I don’t have much time. Anyways, here is a couple of quick tips I found to be very … well … helpful. (I am not the best drawer so ... well ... they suck so what?)
How to farm – Livestock and Crops
A very useful thing I have used is farming. Farming is growing crops and taking care of animals. Back at my house, I farmed potatoes, carrots, and wheat. I also took care of pigs and cows. Here is a step-by-step guide to farming (This isn’t for pumpkins or melons):
Obtain a seed (seeds, potato, carrot)
Find a grass block with water no more than 5 blocks away from it
Using a hoe (farming tool) till the grass
Wait till the tilted area gets water
Plant seeds
To speed up the growing process of crops, use bone meal. What is bonemeal you ask? Using bones dropped from skeletons (monster in the night) I crushed them up to form a ponder-like martial and I sprinkle it over my crops.
Lava for the Win – Smelting
Smelting ores take a long of time and coal. Foods, ores, bricks, and stone can all be smelting in a furnace. Usually, I used coal to fuel but recently I have found a new source. Lava is an efficient fuel source. I will leave some fish in the furnace with lava for a mining trip and when I return home, all of the fish are cooked and the lava is still burning. With adding hoppers into the mix, lava can smelt for a super long time.
Creeper Killing – Mob Combat
Creepers are green monster that will explore when they come near you. These monsters are pests since they can sneak up on you. Here is a helpful tactic for killings these creatures:
Notice the monster
Grab your sword
Hit the monster
Run back about 5 blocks from the monster
Repeat last 2 steps until the creeper is dead
Bows – Weapon
Hopeful I can write more in this book though my food supplely is running low, On a side note, how tasty do you think me arm is? I had a bit and it didn’t seem that bad. I am signing off for now.

Another useful idea for killing creepers is using long-range weapons such as bows.
Bows – Weapon
Bows are the best weapons for combat. They are long range meaning it can kill someone from a distance. They are also really powerful and can knock enemies back pretty far. There are lots of special arrows to use with them like poison, damage, or even healing. All around, they are the best weapons to use.
