Well I am currently working on my big minecraft project and I figured I would share some of the art work/story that went into the characters that will be incorporated into the map's story. These concepts were rather quick design ideas for a grand plot line story that is being developed between my brother(Inksikes) and me. This is also a good idea of some of my mid-range work skill, the intension of these peices was conceptual work and not really finalized designs. The flow of work for these peices(and most of my finished work) starts as hand drawn, and then they are inked with pen and scanned (or photographed 12mp+ camera) and imported for coloring in Photoshop. Most of the background effects were designed in photoshop and not hand drawn. I use a heafty amount of layers, filters, alienskin plugins, and a lot of "airbrush" work in photoshop.

Here is one of the main characters in our fantasy/steampunk stylized universe.

The resigned Emperor of Kraggon, Nikko Cortez. After the Last Great War, Nikko Cortez surrendered the title Royal Emperor of Kraggon as the newly established Governing Senate assumed executive power of Kraggon. Nikko peacefully relinquished his title knowing that it was for the greater good of the nation, however, the Senate now has called him on military trial for actions during the great war that may have led to the fall of Ghilor City. In a plea to the Senate's consideration to his ruling, they allowed him to be apart of the Supervising Team that was established to send a reconnaissance mission to uncover the mystery of Ghilor City.



Kraggon's president and Speaker of the Senate, Maukkus. While he has bloodline ties the the former Royal Imperial family, he remains dedicated to the political revolution of Kraggon. His ties to the Imperial family led to a peaceful transition from progressive imperialism to an international representative democracy.



A Kraggon technology engineer, Tanya, who specializes in DH technology. Her father was one of the early pioneers of DH technology in Ghilor City, which was also where she grew up. Towards the beginning of the Last Great War she went to Kraggon City to become the Chief Engineer of the Royal Imperial Military Force following her late father.

One of the last Imperial Guardians, Samos is a hardened veteran of the Great Wars and also Nikko Cortez's mentor. Despite the political change in Kraggon he stands by Nikko Cortez and continues his loyalty to the Imperial family. Being the last seinor Military Advisers for the Royal Imperial Military Force, he was asked by the senate to lead the new mission to uncover the mystery behind Ghilor City.

Sakhmet became the Felian ambassador when she evaded Eaven armies to seek help from the Kraggon Empire during the onset of the Last Great War. When the newly formed Senate would not listen to her pleas for help she seeked out Nikko Cortez who stood up and took action despite the Senate's ruling, initiating the first battles of the brewing Last Great War. Like Samos she remains loyal to Nikko Cortez for his actions in pushing Eaven Imperial forces out of her homeland. Her feeling of indebtedness for the actions of Nikko Cortez that saved her homeland led her to volunteer to assist with the mission to Ghilor City.


Perhaps some custom skins are called for in the future? :D It is something I plan on working on when I get around to figuring that part out in modding Minecraft. So stand by for those in the next month or so if I get the time off of the adventure map project.
