"Your name is Steve. You have no family. You must live in this world. Proceed."
Steve sat bolt upright. It was just a storm outside; he was next to his sleeping wife.
He relaxed with a smile.
"Better check on this kids," he said quitely to himself.

Steve heard a loud crackle.
The downstairs light flickered on, and a pair of bright white dots seemed to stare at him.

Calm down! It's just the storm messing with your brain.

Steve thought, walking down the hallway.
Taking a slight peek inside his children's rooms, he discovered to see them peacefully sleeping.
Another sigh of relief.
He had an urge to check the weather; he had a golf game tomorrow with his friend.
When the phone turned on, a loud beeping emitted.

"TORNADO ON GROUND, TORNADO ON GROUND.  TAKE COVER NOW. MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF A
STURDY BUILDING. AVOID WINDOWS. IF IN A MOBILE HOME....A VEHICLE OR
OUTDOORS...MOVE TO THE CLOSEST SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER AND PROTECT
YOURSELF FROM FLYING DEBRIS."

Steve couldn't belive it. A tornado?
But then, something hit the window. He ran toward it, only to discover the early morning sky pitch-black.
Then, a branch fell on the roof, making a loud THUMP!
He was dazed to find his wife jumping out of bed, looking at him with panic.
"Get the kids, Steve. Grab our emergency kit, and get downstairs into the basement." said his wife, frantically putting
on a robe over her sleepclothes.

Barreling down the hall, he yelled, "KIDS! GET UP AND GO DOWNSTAIRS TO THE BASEMENT, QUICK!"
His daughter leaped out of bed, grabbed her doll, and ran down the stairs. His son, on the other hand, was still half-asleep.
"Son... wake up!" his eyes snapped open, and he said, "Dad, I'm coming, just grab our kit!"
Steve rushed his family down into the basement, grabbing their emergency bag on the way.

"Daddy.. Mommy... I'm scared." whispered his daughter, holding onto his arm for dear life.
"We are safe, honey. It'll be over. We're in a home. There's nothing to worry. Want me to sing to you?" Steve said, a voice
trying to keep calm.
"Y-yes."
Steve took a deep breath.

"When you're feeling sad,
I'll be here in your heart."

The family huddled together, the wind howling loudly outside.

"When you're feeling lonely,
just think of me."

The howling grew louder.

"When you're alone,
think of us..."

Steve's voice cracked in fear. No. Finish the song.

"I love you,
no matter what happens.
It's okay, you'll be okay..."

A tear fell from his cheek.

"If I'm angry,
I still love you.
If we seperate....
I'll still remember."

He looked up, seeing a crack in the ceiling.
Steve stroked his children's heads.

"I love you." he whispered.
"I won't forg- NOOO!" he screamed.

They were now exposed to the cold morning air, pulling them away from each other.

"DAD! MOM!" yelled his son. He was drifting away from the rest of the family, slowly, only his fingertips holding
onto Steve's hand. Then, his wife. But, she couldn't hold on. "STEEEVE!" She screamed. It was too late for
final words; she was sucked up to above. He was petrified. But he couldn't quit. He had kids. He sat up and desperately
tried to pull his kids toward him.
His hands turned weak, only to see his kids floating up, screaming, "NOO!"
He couldn't believe his family-- all gone.
But he couldn't do anything more. His vision blurred, and he blacked out.

"No... Alive... stay..." murmered Steve.
Steve then yawned, stretched, and opened his eyes.
"Honey? Are... Are you there?" he asked to the empty air.

He stood up, legs wobbling.
He rubbed his head, observing his surroundings.
Still in his- no, not his home. Just rubble.
Panning his eyes to his left, he discovered to see another body lying near him.

"Hello?" Steve asked the body.
"H-hello... Who are... you?" the person asked, eyes barely open.
"My name is Steve, who are you?"
"Herobrine.... What happened?" he replied.
"There was... I don't know, Herobrine. Looks like a tornado," Steve replied. "and we're the only survivors.

Steve helped Herobrine up, and led him to a half-broken chair among the damage.
"People have to be alive somewhere..." Steve muttered.

Herobrine suddenly jumped up, grabbing a nearby broken pipe, holding it near Steve's neck.
"Survivors? Whatever," Herobrine hissed. "There needs to be a new race."
Steve backed up against a large piece of wood.
"N-no... Herobrine... Why are you doing this? HOW did you do this?"

But Herobrine didn't answer.
"Too many stupid people in the world. I'll start a new one." he continued.
"NO!" Steve yelled. He lunged at Herobrine, arms outstretched, trying to choke him.
"STOP IT!" replied Herobrine, smacking his head with the metal bar.

Steve blacked out again.

"Herobrine." he said, opening his eyes, slowly.
No longer was there trash, rubble, dirt.
It was a beautiful, grassy plain with trees, and a cow to his right.
"W-what?" he whispered, looking around.

Hissss...........

A large, green creature approached him.
"Uh... Okay... Haha... Calm..." Steve replied to the horrifying beast.
He had an urge to.. hit it?
How could he kill it? But he tried.

After a few hits, the brute collapsed with a final hiss and stopped moving.
Steve stared at his hands.
A bruise here, a scratch there, but what happened?

"No. I need to do this." Steve said, looking up to the sky.
"My name is Steve. I don't know what happened. But I will survive.
I will survive."
