Intro
So, you have surely noticed that Minecraft now uses ResourcePacks instead of TexturePacks. The change is not only the name: ResourcePacks give you a whole new dimension of what you can change without changing the game code.
Getting Started
To make a ResourcePack, you would need to mess with folders, files, edit a JSON file with metadata and similar stuff.
Fortunately, it's not neccessary:
Just download my tool ResourcePack Workbench, and you'll soon become a res-pack master!
So, what can you do?
Now you can change textures, sounds, and - quite interestingly - text files with translations.
This lets you entirely replace items: In the video above, you can watch me replace fish with sausages, and not only images, but also the tooltips.
Only thing that remains intact is the recipes, but in this case, that's only good!
Download
It's a silly pack, but if you want it, here's a link:

Your turn
If you make something cool with the tool, you can share a link in the comments below.
Because moderators are not really open-minded, you can't post it as a new topic on this site
- but on Minecraft Forum, it's all right!

Just an example:
You may decide the "ruby" texture is better than "emerald". Nothing is easier than rename emerald to Ruby and use the old image!
Or, you can turn obsidian into bazalt: re-texture it and rename it. (or any other block, of course)
Or, someone might make a Weed-Craft, turning wheat to weed and altering all the subsequent recipes and stuff - hippie horses eating weed leaves and weed blocks, and similar :P
