Welcome to The PMC Telegraph, Planet Minecraft's newest newspaper and most essential reading. Here you'll find news, reviews, tutorials, interviews and opinion articles on everything in the world of Minecraft and the internet! New editions will be posted every Sunday, so *subscribe*to stay tuned for more!

Tutorial: How To Downgrade Your Version Of Minecraft!

Have you accidentally upgraded to the latest version of Minecraft and are now locked out of your favourite, out-of-date servers? It's a problem we all face. But with the new Minecraft launcher, there's an easy way to downgrade!
 • First, click 'Edit Profile' in the bottom-left corner of the Minecraft Launcher.
 • In 'Version Selection' click 'Use Version' and just scroll down to the version you want to use.

It's that easy! Now you can use the previous version until your servers update.

The Best Creative Servers

Are you looking to find a new creative server, but can't find the right one? I've compiled a list of my 5 favourite creative servers.

 1. Creative Node- Whitelisted server, with a small but friendly community and bags of building talent. Winners of the Survival Games map contest on PMC!
 2. Team Vareide- Owned by Vareide (surprisingly) who is one of PMC's most popular members. Team Vareide create survival games maps for other servers.
 3. Mithrintia- The well-known, unwhitelisted server with very high standards.
 4. ShadeCrest- What you might call the 'perfectly-sized' server. Plus, multiple worlds and lots of admins.
 5. Greenfield- The little server with the biggest city ever built in Minecraft! You have to apply to help expand it.

Getting New Ideas For Submissions

People often ask me how I get ideas for new blogs and builds. I never look through PMC to get ideas and don't steal ideas from anyone else, so you shouldn't either. What I do to get inspiration is read through the newspapers.

A newspaper is always jam-packed with information and images. Firstly, just going throughit on a regular basis obviously improves your reading, and you can pick up techniques for writing, which is useful for blogging. Also, in the articles I often find ideas that can be translated into the context of Minecraft. If you want to write original, fresh, interesting blogs, try taking things from the newspaper and thinking about how it connects to Minecraft.

For example, there are sometimes articles about cyber-bullying, new internet trends, patterns of speech, new computers and technology, and much more. Talk to people on your Minecraft servers and see what they think about these issues, and see whether similar trends are happening in the game.

Form your own opinion on things like mods, texture packs, building, sexism on PMC, spamming in the chat, cracked servers or whatever, and put these into your blogs. Rant and rave, tell people how to do things you've just found out, or try to relate real life to the game. Contrary to popular belief, there are a million things to write about on PMC, and a billion things you can say about them.

In terms of projects or texture packs, you can use all the images and photography in the newspapers. They can give you ideas for textures, designs, patterns, and more. You may also get skinning ideas out of what people are wearing in the photographs! So, it's all about newspapers. Newspapers, people!

YouTubers Reviewed: Machinima Realm!

It's been a long time since I last reviewed a YouTuber (mainly because, last time, I was disembowelled by an army of furious CaptainSparklez fans for making some negative comments about him), but hey, I'll give it another try.

Have you heard of MachinimaRealm? Probably not. Should you subscribe to them? I think so.

The growth of this YouTube channel has been slow, with 6000 videos posted and 1.6 million subscribers gained. They post a range of videos; everything from 'Random League of Legends Moments' (their most-viewed series) to 'Hot Girls Play Splegg.' Other games like Final Fantasy, Cube World and Dota 2 (whatever that is) are also featured on the channel.

It's worth noting that while a range of entertaining commentators post footage on the channel, there are also, sadly, some truly dreadful 'dramatic animations' available to watch. 'Lapsis', for example, is a series of videos that should never have been released. The voice acting is awful, barely anything happens, and half of each episode is spent recapping the last episode and panning over the scenes of this episode.

Thankfully, most of the rest of their content is watchable. Machinima Realm reviews mini games and mods, gives tips for builders, does 'Quick-buildchallenges' and much more.So it might be worth checking out.

This Week On PMC: The Latest News

 • THE SITE HIT 1,220,000 MEMBERS! (Not thatthatmatters.)
 • PMC posted a blog explaining all the latest features added to the site!
 • THIS was said in the PMC chat: (the speaker would prefer to remain anonymous) "Stephen Hawkings speaks to me through my laptop."
 • With the Mojang servers down, players were unable to access multiplayer servers and swamped the PMC chat to complain about the disaster. This left PMC chat moderators with record numbers of chatters and record levels of spam. Kudos to them for dealing so well with all the commotion.

 • That's it for The PMC Telegraph this week!
 • Leave your comments below and your diamonds above if you enjoyed it!
 • Do YOU want to write for The PMC Telegraph and provide articles for future editions? If so, PM me!

Soggy, your blogs are amazing and you're a great writer but this is a disappointment to me. You've always had really original ideas for blogs. This one is not original. Although there are different subjects, it's a PMC Times with different articles and worse formatting. Yet it gets more diamonds than the Times because of all your subs.

I feel like the Times has lost it's charm a bit. I haven't written for it in more than a month because I'm a terrible terrible person with procrastination problems.

I'd disagree with you in that, I think the different articles I brought in are quite original. 'YouTubers Reviewed' is quite original, as is the funny news and my updated list of top creative servers. These are all blogs that I wanted to do but don't make up long enough blogs by themselves. And as for the formatting, yes I have titles instead of pictures, but that'll change with the next edition (out on sunday) and I'll have loads of articles from different writers. I don't think it has more diamond than the average Times edition, but I appreciate it's not a good as some other stuff I've done. So I'll make sure the next edition is better, and I have an idea for a twist that should be good.

I'm writing for Soggy, so if the next article sucks, blame it on me.
(Hopefully it won't though, I spent hours on it, especially the short story.)

Well done my friend, well done! But I think you should also get some other people in there doing articles to contribute, but you'd have to make sure they could get it done in time for every edition. It would give the "paper" a bit more variety, and shove some different opinions in there. All you'd have to do is give them credit for the article! I've subbed and can't wait for some more editions!

Any way I could squeeze my way in there as a YouTube channel?I'm pretty devoted to YouTube, and I try to post as much as I can.I think that your blogs YouTube section would be a bit more respectable
if smaller YouTubers were chosen, that's just my opinion, though. It makes it look as if much more effort was put in, rather than choosing someone/thing huge, like machinima. If you want my YouTube, it's linked on my profile. (Just so I don't look like an advertising bum.. :S)
I'd greatly appreciate it,if I can get in.

Best regards,
Dras

Yep, I think I'm with SlipB and iansonwheels here.
One, Fanjawi did a better job, methinks, more original as well.
Soggy, I seriously used to love your blogs. However...
It seems over the past month or so, they've gotten less and less original. Sure, we're all guilty of this occasionally, but I think you've fallen into a pattern.
Sure, you newspaper might be a *bit* different then the rest, but these days, newspapers are more common the *YE MODS SUCK* blogs.
Get out of the rut before it's to late.
Just a thought.

Well I don't think he did. Pictures instead of worded titles don't make it better. And I've only gotten 'worse' because I've been blogging less. Thank you for your thought, but this isn't that bad and tomorrow's edition will be great, methinks.
