People always think stacks can go up to 64 or 111 or something like that. Here is what it really is. Stacks have a 1 byte limit, or an 8 bit limit. That means it goes up to 7 digits in binary. So the max is 127. And now, here's how: Downgrade to 1.1. Make a nether portal. Have water flowing right to the portal. Make a crafting bench at the end (yes, this is the classic nether portal glitch). Stand in the water. Right click on crafting bench and put sand on it. When you touch the nether portal, GUIs disappear, but 2 sand will drop. One is normal, but the other one is infinite. You can place it infinite times. However, eventually, minecraft updated the stack from infinity to 127.
